The Florida First Plan
“Florida First” means governing with Floridians—not lobbyists—at the center of every decision. It’s about real solutions, responsible leadership, and policies that put families, workers, and communities first.
Keep housing for people— not portfolios
Big corporate investors like Blackstone are buying up family homes, outbidding local buyers, driving up rent, and leaving fewer homes for families to own.
Fishback will eliminate property taxes for private homeowners by raising taxes on corporate-owned homes. This pushes big investors out of the housing market, slows overdevelopment, protects farmland, forests, and wetlands, and puts families and Florida’s land first.
Education— not ideology
Florida’s schools should focus on education—not ideology. Universities have kept failed DEI programs alive by simply renaming them and continuing the same divisive policies that undermine students and academic standards.
Fishback will hold universities accountable by ending DEI programs outright and refocusing higher education on merit, free inquiry, and real opportunity. He will also raise tuition for international students so Florida taxpayers aren’t footing the bill. If they can’t pay, they can’t stay. Florida students come first.
These same principles apply to K–12 education. Fishback will block ideological programs in public schools, restore classroom focus on reading, math, science, and civics—and increase teacher pay to attract and keep the best educators for Florida’s children.
Opportunities— not debt
Debt holds back many young people from achieving their dreams. A small grant could change this.
High school graduates will receive a $10,000 grant to help buy a home or launch a small business—no loans, no interest, no strings attached. Instead of pushing young people into decades of debt, this policy backs ownership, independence, and local growth.
However, this policy isn’t just about helping graduates—it’s about strengthening the whole community. When young people can afford to buy homes and start small businesses, neighborhoods stay stable, local economies grow, and communities don’t hollow out.
Protect life— not abortion as the default
Being pro-life means more than opposing abortion. It means standing with women before, during, and after pregnancy—so no one feels abandoned, pressured, or forced into a decision because they lack support.
Pregnancy should be met with care, resources, and real options, not fear or isolation. Abortion should never be the first or expected answer to pregnancy—especially when many women choose it because they feel they have no other choice. This policy puts compassion into action by expanding resources to women.
Immigration enforcement— not empty promises
Immigration enforcement is a public safety issue. Florida consistently ranks among the states with the highest levels of illegal immigration, and failure to enforce the law puts pressure on law enforcement, housing, and public services.
That’s why Fishback will crack down on illegal immigration, support strong ICE enforcement, and ensure cooperation with law enforcement to remove criminals who are here illegally. Securing our communities makes neighborhoods safer, reduces strain on housing, and helps keep Florida affordable for families.
American jobs— not H-1B abuse
America’s jobs should go to American workers first. The H-1B visa program has been abused to replace U.S. workers with cheaper foreign labor, driving down wages and hurting recent graduates and working families.
Fishback will end the usage of the H-1B program in Florida and refocus hiring on American talent. Putting Floridians back to work will raise wages, strengthen the middle class, and boost Florida’s economy—without undercutting workers or outsourcing opportunity.
Results— not rivalries
Florida’s success didn’t happen by accident. Governor DeSantis proved that strong leadership, conservative principles, and the courage to stand up to the political establishment deliver real results for Floridians.
President Trump reshaped the national conversation by demanding accountability, prioritizing American workers, and refusing to bow to the political establishment.
Fishback reflects the leadership and results of both and will carry forward the best of those legacies—strong leadership, clear priorities, and results that put Florida and America first.
